New 87.5 MW Solar Unit Goes Live; NTPC Group Total Capacity Surpasses 89,500 MW

NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), the renewable arm of India’s largest power producer, has officially expanded its green footprint by commissioning an 87.5 MW solar plant in Rajasthan on Friday, April 17, 2026. This unit is part of a larger 150 MW solar project developed through Project Eleven Renewable Power, a subsidiary of the ONGC NTPC Green (ONGPL) joint venture.
This addition marks a significant uptick in the company’s operational assets as it races toward its ambitious 2032 targets. With this new capacity, the NTPC Group’s total installed capacity has reached a massive 89,528.9 MW, while the renewable-only segment continues its rapid ascent.
